Washoe Board of County Commissioners meeting 10:00 Tuesday, 11/18

Library supporters! This is our LAST CHANCE to make sure the BCC knows how much we love the Washoe County Library System as commissioners will be considering the funding of a flat budget for the next fiscal year.

You can:

  • attend the meeting in person on Tuesday at 10:00 in the commission chambers at 1001 E. Ninth Street, Building A, Reno. You can make public comment for agenda item #12, but if your time is limited, you can comment at the beginning under “general” and then leave
  • provide online comment using SpeakUp – comments are due by 4:00 on Monday, 11/10. The library budget is agenda item #12. If you would like to read the staff report on the budget, it is here

The reason the county has continued to fund the libraries after the failure of WC-1 is: LIBRARY SUPPORTERS HAVE SHOWED UP.

Also: Library Board of Trustees meeting 5:30 Wednesday, 11/19, Downtown Library

There will also be a library board meeting on Wednesday evening. The agenda does not contain any urgent items, however, it is always worth attending to support library workers in the face of ongoing attacks.

In Solidarity,

FtR-NV Steering Committee
