SPECIAL MEETING OF THE LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES: PUBLIC INTERVIEWS OF TOP CANDIDATES FOR THE LIBRARY DIRECTOR POSITION

The top three candidates for Director of the Washoe County Library System will be interviewed in a public meeting next Monday. The meeting will take place at 8:30 a.m. in County Commission chambers.

Prior to the meeting (possibly on Friday), the resumes of the candidates will be posted here (go to Agendas & Minutes), along with other materials.

At the January library board meeting, public commenters noted that the library director job description had changed, with the requirement for a masters in library science (MLIS) being replaced by the option of a masters in business administration (MBA), contrary to Nevada State Library minimum public library standards. See the old and new job descriptions.

If you would like to catch up on what’s been happening with WCLS leadership, check out our timeline.

We encourage library fans to attend this special public meeting in support of our wonderful libraries and fabulous library staff.
