- November 2024 – More than 6,000 people sign a petition asking Washoe County to restore library funding
2025
- February 2025 – AB416 seeks to ban book bans in Nevada
- April 2025 – County Commission keeps library funding stable but sets some funding aside
- April 2025 – Library director resigned following a negative evaluation from the library board
- June 2025 – Governor vetoes AB416
- July 2025 – Library board finally begins search for new director
- December 2025 – Library system loses assistant director after losing library director
